FAQ About the Zakat Related to Gold

What is zakat in short answer?
Zakat is a specific amount of money that a Muslim donates in the way of Allah to clean their money. Muslims pay Zakat when they have a specific amount of Good that is declared by Islam. Muslims give Zakat on the gold, silver, cattle, crops, and also on money.

How is zakat calculated?
Zakat is the 2.5% of the total amount, and Islam gives a limit (nisab) on goods. If you have that amount, then you pay zakat.

1. Zakat on Gold
   If any Muslim has the 7.5 tola (87.48 grams or 3 ounces) of gold, then they pay 2.5% of zakat on that according to the present price of gold.
2. Zakat on Silver
   On the quantity of the 52.5 tola (612.36 grams or 21 ounces) of silver is declared in nisab to pay zakat and that is 2.5%.
3. Zakat on Money
   You should pay zakat on cash that is not in use and has been saved for one lunar year. In Islam, there is no specific minimum limit mentioned for cash on which zakat must be paid. However, the nisab is based on the value of gold or silver. If a Muslim has cash equal to the value of gold or silver (nisab) or more, then zakat must be paid on it at the rate of 2.5%.
4. Zakat on Cattle
   In Nisab the amount of zakat is declare for the cattle’s include Cows/Buffalo, Sheep/Goats and Camels.
   1. Cows/Buffalo (30-39 = 1 male calf)
   2. Sheep/Goats (40-120 = 1)
   3. Camels (5-9 =1 sheep)
5. Zakat on Crops
   In Islam zakat on crops depend on the process for harvesting the crops if natural recources is use to harvest the crops then the one-ten (10%) of the total crops is donate in the way of Allah. and if the crops are harvest from the artificial method then the one-twentieth (5%) is zakat of the total crops and if both natural and artifical method is use the the three-fortieths (7.5) is donate.
   How much Zakat on 1000 rupees?
   According to the 2.5% the zakat on 1000 rupees is 25 rupees.
   Who cannot receive Zakat?
   Zakat is given to the followings
   1. Parents
   2. Grandparents
   3. Childrens
   4. Grandchildrens
   5. Non Muslims
   6. And Family of Hazrat Muhammad (peace be upon him).
   How much is nisab?
   Nisab is the amount of the wealth that if a muslim have then they pay zakat on that.
   How much Zakat on 1 lakh rupees in Pakistan?
   According to the 2.5% the zakat on the 1 lakh rupees is 2500 rupees.
   How much Zakat on 10 tola gold?
   To calculate Zakat on 10 Tola follow these steps
   Step 1: Find the current price of Gold.
   Step 2: Then subtract the 2.5% of the current value on the 10 Tola Gold.
